The full moon in Libra is occurring on Saturday April 4 at 8:06AM Eastern Time along with the start of Passover and Easter this weekend. We are simultaneously experiencing a Lunar Eclipse when the earth obstructs the sun from shining directly upon the moon. SO how can we use this particular celestial event to better achieve our hopes and dreams?
From a symbolic standpoint, the Sun represents the rational mind and our expressive, active dynamic role in the world, whereas the Moon represents our emotions, the subconscious, dreams, the intuitive and instinctual mind. The earth represents the self, matter and how we relate and interact with the world. A lunar eclipse temporarily alters how we can perceive these three aspects, allowing us to examine facets of our lives in a unique way, so we may turn inward to access our hidden motivations, patterns and wishes.
Because the moon is in Libra we can explore the ways we are living in harmony and equilibrium but also discover what may be contributing to any current patterns of imbalance. Ordinarily the Sun shines it’s influence upon the Moon, but as the Eclipse brings a brief segregation between the Sun and Moon, we can access the attributes of the Moon without the interference of the more dominant solar energy. Therefore is easier to dig into our subconscious thoughts and feelings to expose and then address and shift buried issues more efficiently than during ordinary planetary alignments. During the three day window around the full moon when the moon is in Libra from 3:08AM Friday and 3:04PM Sunday Eastern Time it is ideal to set aside a period of time about 20 minutes to an hour depending on how deeply you want to delve. There is great power in expressing your authentic feelings and naming what is working and not working in your life. Only by examining and admitting what no longer serves us do we ever have the true capacity to deliberately change it. The following ritual is designed to give you a chance to reflect and voice aspects of your life that work as well as the things you wish to change. This exercise will not magically eliminate every single problem you are experiencing, you will need to do the necessary footwork to make that happen for yourself. It is a means for taking inventory so that you may decide what you wish to keep, what needs repairing and what you are ready to toss.
You will need:
A favorite writing implement.
a small bowl with 1 or 2 large ice cubes and an absorbent towel for melting water.
a sturdy note card/recipe card about 4″x6″ and colored markers.
Take a few moments to ground and center, think of the moon and imagine you are drawing its qualities down to you with each breath. Breathe in the Balance that Libra brings and welcome your connection to the Divine Presence with whatever name or form works best for you. When you are feeling filled with the energy and balance of La Bella Luna consider and then write out your answers to the questions on the worksheet. Look over your answers and distill the 3-5 words that have the most emotional charge for you. After rubbing your hands together, pick up the ice cube and hold it in one hand while tapping with the other on your karate chop point. Use the classic EFT set up and talk about the stuff that is getting in your way with your turn around being the choice you wish to focus on. NOTE: this ritual is more about taking inventory and exposing what is actually going on in your life right now, it is the start of a process. While it will likely help to shift your perspective and sense of what you are dealing with, it is your actual actions that will make the real difference in your life. I strongly recommend that you seek appropriate support and professional assistance if you are feeling that your life is unmanageable.
As the ice melts and you tap on your karate chop point you can state: “Even though… all this xyz is going on, etc. I choose to… Alternate speaking the set-up statements shifting tapping and holding the ice between your two hands, just keep going until your ice cube which acts as a symbol for the blocks you wish to shift and release has completely melted. Obviously put the towel under your hands to catch the water and prevent making a mess. It can be helpful to hold the intent that as this ice melts your obstacles are receiving the necessary energy and attention to start shifting and you are gaining traction to start moving forward.
After you have done a few rounds of the set-up and your ice has melted, assess how you are feeling. If you are feeling triggered by what you exposed, then tap through all your points a few times using a reminder phrase that sums up the issue you want to release. Then do another round or two through the points to anchor in your choice centered affirmation by tapping and stating “I choose…” for each point.
To complete this personal ceremony, in 1 or 2 sentences write your affirming choice on the note card. Using colored markers make it look as appealing as you can. Take this card and put it some where that you will be able to see this often to serve as a reminder. Each time you regard it, as you can, repeat the statement, inhaling the energy you are invoking and then exhaling your wish as a circle of intention around you.
